Cut a scallop border, punch or cut out various sized circles, and add a long strip down the right side of the canvas. Once satisfied, attach the pieces to the background with \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\" target=\"_blank\"\u003egel medium\u003c\/a\u003e, and let dry. Use \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eRanger Ink’s Heat-It Craft Tool\u003c\/a\u003e to help speed up the drying process.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Next, create a white wash by mixing some \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ewhite gesso\u003c\/a\u003e and water. Use a paintbrush to apply the wash and tone down the patterns and colors of the papers. Let dry completely.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Add layers with Dina Wakley’s heavy-body acrylic paints. For this project, I used \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection?limit=25\"\u003eTurquoise and Lemon\u003c\/a\u003e. Apply the paint with your fingers and the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eMini Ink Blending Tool\u003c\/a\u003e. I chose not to change the foam pad between colors, which added a nice green tone to the background. Use your fingers to add swipes of \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection?limit=25\"\u003eMagenta paint\u003c\/a\u003e for a pop of color. You can choose to completely cover the collaged papers with paint or let some of the paper show through. Once you’re done, let the paint dry completely.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Stamp two strips of Prima Marketing’s Epiphany stamp using permanent black ink, one across the middle and one at the bottom. Paint over the stamped text with a gesso wash to tone it down.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e To add some contrast, apply swipes of white gesso using the blending tool. Stamp white dots of gesso into the smaller circles using the blending tool. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Replace the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/color-tools?limit=25\"\u003efoam pad\u003c\/a\u003e on the Mini Ink Blending tool and dab the foam with Black Soot from Tim Holtz’s \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/collections-tim-holtz?limit=25\"\u003eDistress Ink Mini\u003c\/a\u003e. Stencil texture into the smaller circles using \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/stencils?limit=25\"\u003eStorytime Stencil\u003c\/a\u003e by Seth Apter. Use the heat tool to speed up drying and to prevent smearing.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Using the same foam pad on the blending tool, add words using Dina Wakley \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/stencils?limit=25\"\u003eAffirmations Media Stencil\u003c\/a\u003e. Use the heat tool to dry each line before stenciling the next, otherwise it will smear.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Outline the circles and scallops with Faber Castell’s Stamper’s \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/artist-pens-and-markers?limit=25\"\u003eBig Brush Pen\u003c\/a\u003e in Warm Grey. Add the dots and words from Kaisercraft Rub-Ons Secret Bird Society Black down the long strip.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Remember the scallops you cut out at the beginning? Use the remnants from the initial paper and stencil scalloped-boarders using the ink blending tool and some \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ewhite acrylic paint\u003c\/a\u003e. Change the foam pad on the ink blending tool and stencil scallops in the same manner across the top using \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection?limit=25\"\u003eblack gesso\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection?limit=25\"\u003eMagenta acrylic paint\u003c\/a\u003e for added interest. Add random swipes of black gesso along the edges. Outline the black scallops with pens from the Faber-Castel’s essential \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/faber-castell-collection?limit=25\"\u003eMix and Match Pitt Artist Pen Set\u003c\/a\u003e. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e With the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/stencils?limit=25\"\u003eCrafter's Workshop Specimen Stencil\u003c\/a\u003e, randomly stencil circles using the foam pad you used to stamp the white scalloped boarders.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Free Projects","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45452524257431,"sku":"PROJ-0908","price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0659\/5546\/3319\/files\/PROJ-0908__71069.1558402764.1280.1280.jpg?v=1746793135","url":"https:\/\/stampington.live\/products\/who-you-are-canvas-project","provider":"Stampington \u0026 Company","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
