It’s also really useful for art journaling on the go. I can carry this smaller-sized journal almost anywhere which gives me a better place to doodle, jot down thoughts, and create — as opposed to what I usually do, which is just using bits of loose paper, napkins, and whatever else I can get my hands on.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e For this project, I decided to do a two page spread, and I started by gluing some torn pieces of decorative \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/tissue-and-transparencies\"\u003etissue paper\u003c\/a\u003e directly onto the pages. Once I was done pasting, I watered down some light blue \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/paints\"\u003eacrylic paint\u003c\/a\u003e and painted both pages. I wasn’t entirely happy with the blue, so I decided to spritz the pages with the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/spray-inks\"\u003ePolished Jade Dylusions spray ink\u003c\/a\u003e to add a little depth. I was really pleased with the result. The spray ink fell unevenly and it gave my journal pages a lovely weathered look.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Once the paint and ink spray dried, I selected one of \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection\"\u003eDina Wakley’s\u003c\/a\u003e new Media Masks and a light green acrylic paint. Using a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/color-tools\"\u003efoam brush\u003c\/a\u003e, I stenciled the leaf design onto both pages of my journal. After the green paint had dried, I used a dark green \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/chalks-and-colored-pencils\"\u003eFaber Castell crayon\u003c\/a\u003e and drew around the edges of some of the leaves to add more dimension and bring them to life.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e I wanted to add something a little different, so I used some \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/solid-tapes\"\u003ewhite washi\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/patterned-tapes?limit=100\"\u003enewsprint design washi\u003c\/a\u003e in various areas for a subtle accent. I also stenciled in my uplifting quote, “Listen to Your Inner Voice,” using the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dina-wakley-collection\"\u003eaffirmations stencil\u003c\/a\u003e and a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/artist-pens-and-markers?limit=100\"\u003eblack fine point pen\u003c\/a\u003e, and added \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/collections-tim-holtz?page=4\"\u003echitchat stickers\u003c\/a\u003e to vary the font styles.
