I was completely charmed by their vintage patchwork design as well as the real machine stitching that is incorporated, so I didn’t want to do too much and hide their appeal. As I was playing around with them and pairing them up with black-and-white vintage photos, I noted that the largest size of frame was perfect for a set of promotional journals I wanted to give a makeover. I also realized that some of the components of the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/tim-holtz-idea-ology-collage-strips\/\"\u003eCollage Strips\u003c\/a\u003e would make nice tabs on the photos, and stapled those into place. Everything came together quickly from there.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eAlways one to shop my stash, I found some crumpled white paper I’d been saving for something, and used it to cover the journals. The unfortunate-looking logo was still visible through the paper, and when I placed the framed photo directly on the paper to hide it, I felt like something was missing. My eyes landed on a stack of cardboard scraps and knew they’d be the perfect complement to the romantic Layer Frames. After tearing away some of the top layer to reveal the corrugation, I used double-sided tape to adhere everything in place.
