Immediately, I hung it up on my wall at home to store knick knacks. Although I adored the rustic brown color, I decided to whitewash it to match my recent home décor renovations. In this case, whitewashing worked especially well because the original “character,” marks, and writing on the sides showed through.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e To whitewash the crate I simply mixed \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/?route=product\/search\u0026amp;filter_name=gesso\"\u003egesso\u003c\/a\u003e with water and lightly painted the box with one layer. After it dried, I filled all the little compartments with some of my favorite supplies: \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/washi-tapes\"\u003ewashi tapes\u003c\/a\u003e, mini \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/canvas-corp-collection\"\u003eclothespins\u003c\/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/art-stamps-wood-mounted\"\u003ewood mounted stamps\u003c\/a\u003e, and \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/ribbons-and-fibers\"\u003eribbon on spools\u003c\/a\u003e.
