This canvas captures the essence of Paris, with a subtle nod to the author’s work that I am slowly reading through.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003ch2\u003eBoulevard Canvas Project Directions:\u003c\/h2\u003e \u003cp\u003ePrime the canvas with random streaks of \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\/\"\u003ewhite gesso\u003c\/a\u003e. While gesso is still wet, blend in random streaks of Egg Shell chalkboard paint. Allow to dry.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eMix texture paste with a large amount of white paint and just a touch of Dina Wakley’s Umber paint.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eWith a palette knife, scrape texture paste over the whole canvas, leaving only slight streaks over the canvas. Apply texture paste heavily to the corners of the canvas for even more texture.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eContinue layering on egg shell paint, white gesso, and texture paste mixture to canvas until satisfied with the result.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eTrace the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/stencils\/\"\u003eMarrakech Stencil\u003c\/a\u003e design onto the back of each design in the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/paper-collections\/\"\u003eTales of You \u0026amp; Me Journaling Cards set\u003c\/a\u003e. Cut out and arrange on the canvas. Rip pieces from the corners of the design to give the pattern a more organic feel. Glue to the canvas with gel medium.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eCut words apart and adhere to the bottom corner of the canvas.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eSeal the entire canvas with gel medium. This is very important for the next step to keep the spray ink from soaking into the paper and creating a mottled and dark pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eSpray the entire canvas with Tim Holtz’s walnut stain.
