We’ve had a few artists submit their own versions, and they looked so fun that I just had to give them a try! I’m used to doing most of my work on a flat, rectangular surface, like a journal page or canvas, so this was a bit of a challenge for me, but it did bring me back to my days of sitting on the floor playing with paper dolls.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003ch2\u003eAdventures in Alterables Project Instructions:\u003c\/h2\u003e \u003cp\u003eTo begin, I painted the \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/ready-to-alter\"\u003edoll's\u003c\/a\u003e legs with \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\"\u003eBroken China Distress Paint\u003c\/a\u003e. The dabber made it very easy to apply the paint.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eI then painted part of the man’s arms and torso with \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\"\u003eAntique Linen Distress Paint\u003c\/a\u003e. To add a bit of interest, I tore pieces of \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\"\u003eMelange Tissue Wrap\u003c\/a\u003e and glued it to the legs.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eNext, I stamped \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/rubber-art-stamps\"\u003eRecommendation\u003c\/a\u003e by Carin Andersson onto the legs and \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/art-stamps-wood-mounted\"\u003eHoneycomb\u003c\/a\u003e by Christine Adolph onto the arms with Tuxedo Black StazOn ink.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eTo finish, I added a \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/mixed-media-supplies\"\u003egold-painted\u003c\/a\u003e birdcageand a pink-painted bird. The final touch was a bit of vintage text.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eOnce everything was dry, I glued the pieces together with Diamond Glaze.
