Once you have your sections mix the ICE Resin® per the provided instructions. Lay the paper onto a trash bag (make sure this is not a recycled shopping bag as it will stick), or onto the top of a silicone craft mat. Wearing gloves and using a foam brush apply a layer of resin to both sides of the paper. Set aside and allow to dry over night.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFilling a Bezel:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePlace your imagery within the Oval Hobnail Bezel, using a wee bit of paper appropriate adhesive to hold the artwork in place. While the glue is drying mix a batch of resin per the instructions. With the bezel on a flat surface pour the resin into the piece. Allow to dry for 24 hours.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003ePrepping the Journal:\u003cbr\u003eWhile the resin is drying create layers within the pages of the canvas journal by adding paint in coordinating shades. To ensure the paint is sufficiently dry before moving on to the next signature of pages I like to apply a little heat with a hair dryer set on low – this way your pages will not stick together.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCreating a Story:\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOnce your resin paper has dried you are ready to assemble. Start by layering vintage sheet music and ledger paper onto the pages that is then covered with resin paper. In my journal it was all about remaining imperfect. Layers are not cut to a specific size but rather left a bit random. Once all of the paper layers are done proceed by adding a bit of machine stitching and\/or hand stitching. Ribbons and other textiles can be added in the same manner.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003eOnto the top of the resin paper I added a wee bit of white paint – once dry journaling was added as well. Keep in mind - if you want to stitch on the cover, it’s usually best to do that before you bind the book! Don’t stitch through too many sheets unless you have a sewing machine that is capable of doing so, I’ve learned that the hard way in the past.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e To alter the cover, I embellished it with some pretty colors of crafter's tape and added the birdie themed ephemera piece from the Daily Junque collection. I also did a little stitching on the cover to compliment the stitching on the bind.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e For the final touch to the cover, I added some teeny alpha stickers to spell out “to journal.” On the inside pages you can add some extra artsy touches by stamping various designs here and there. The other step that may take some time is stamping the dates onto all the cardstock pieces. To make it quick, I suggest making some piles for the cards - do all the months and then do the days. This way you can stamp 31 January cards with \"JAN\" very quickly and so on. Then crank out all the numbers - so do all 12 months with the \"01\" stamp etc...\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eYou may want to alter the cards and embellish them just a little. But this is a big project so maybe gradually doing the cards throughout the year might be best! I add a few very simple elements to mine using some of my favorite stamps and some colorful inks. On some of my cards, I used a little white wash to fade the stamped images very slightly. Then stamp the same bird image onto the Gesso, and tried to match them up to where you will be placing the wax image so that when you glue the wax image down, the birds will match up. Use the Lino Cutter to carve the stamp. Using a brayer and Eco Green Crafts Tomato Red and Ocean acrylic paint, I used a brayer to apply the paint. You can try painting the entire background with the first color then apply the second color over as desired. Or you can blend the two colors by adding drops of both colors onto the cardstock and using the brayer to apply them together. Once the background layer of paint has dried, take a piece of bubble wrap and cover it lightly with Eco Green Crafts Sand acrylic paint and then stamp the bubble wrap design onto the backgrounds as desired. Allow to dry. Stamp the hand-carved birdcage image onto each background page using StazOn Ink. Each page was created a little differently. Page 1 was created using an idea prompt from Journal Bliss. The idea was to do a “Gratitude” page where you create a list of things you are grateful for. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Page 2: I decided to use one of my favorite sayings “give me wings to fly” which worked well with the birdcage theme. Take a think piece of magnetized paper and cut it to size to fit the microscope slide. You now have family portrait magnets on microscope slides. Then I added another piece of paper to the top so that I wouldn't accidentally punch a hole in the slot. Add a rub-on that says 'spread your wings'.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e For the microscope slides: Pick three backgrounds from the Tuscan Rose sheets that coordinate. Stamp the Robin Script Heart again on pink variegated paper. Attach it to the three backgrounds you choose and then cut them apart so that you have three separate pieces again. Run each one through the xyron face down so that the front is sticky. Then add a microscope slide to the front of the sticky piece and seal with foil tape. Do this process for all three pieces. Then insert them into the slots. I began by painting the inside and cover with white gesso. Once the gesso had dried I painted the 3 pocket flaps on the inside with blue paint. I gathered some various patterned papers to decorate the front.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e For the main background paper I used the blue paper from the Lynne Perrella paper kit, for the vertical strip on the left edge I used the harlequin paper from the Paper Designs pastel paper padand for the paper on the bottom right corner I used artist paper from the Somerset Artist Paper pack.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e I also cut out a rectangular piece of vintage paper for the center. Next I glued all the pieces down with Collage Pauge and allowed them to dry. To create the washed look I mixed up some gesso with a little water and then painted over all the patterned papers and set aside to dry.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Once the front was completely dry I stamped the bird image \"Mobile Home\" from the Colette Copeland collection onto the center with brown ink.
