Sometimes I’ll wear a bright, quirky pattern or an unexpected pop of color, but lately I’ve found myself drawn to big and bold necklaces. As much as I’d love to make a huge collection of my own, I have no real talent for jewelry. However, when I spied \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/jewelry-making-findings-and-charms\"\u003eSandra Evertson’s Relics and Artifacts\u003c\/a\u003e, each with a pre-made metal loop, I knew I could create something that’d be fun to add to my wardrobe.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eI love sacred hearts, so I was naturally drawn to the heart and flame. I knew I wanted to connect them, so I unscrewed the loop from the heart. Then I applied several layers of Ruby paint with a sponge. When dry, I rubbed the heart gently with \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/inkpads-and-cleaners\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eblack ink\u003c\/a\u003e. Once that was dry, I sponged a bit of gold paint onto the heart. I applied several layers of sky paint to the flame, let it dry, and then added a bit of gold paint. I then used a stronghold adhesive to glue the two components together. I wrapped the area where they joined with rusty wire.
